New City New Style

I cannot believe I haven’t posted anything for a month – where has the time gone?! The last four weeks have been a whirl wind, hence the lack of posts and old layout which I am still waiting to update! I have just started university and I’m sure as many of you can imagine I seemed to have little time to even go near my computer! But I am back and so expect more posts  from now on. Sadly I have missed out on all the gossip from London, Milan and Paris fashion week, but I know you are probably very informed by now! So for this post, I thought I would write about the street style where i am now living – it is incredible. You could even say there is as much diversity here as in London.

I don’t even know where to begin, I have seen so many different styles – classic catwalk looks, sporty, sloany, casual but cool, 80′s..now that’s unbelievably popular. I certainly have become much more relaxed about what I wear since starting univeristy, especially when you have to wake up for a 9am lecture! I usually dress up quite a bit, but jeans and Supergas with a hoodie and leather jacket has become my go to look when I am short on time. I have picked out three looks which seem to me to be the most popular amoung girls. I literally see the same green parka and white pair of Converses everyday!

 Converse

The Converse trainer shoe is most popular for nights out and walking to and from lectures. Often seen with leggings and hoodies or as above dressed up with maxi skirts  or shorts and tights. (Image: The Sartorialist)

Beanie Hat

There is nothing better than a beanie hat to keep warm during the winter months.. so it would seem. I love hats but the thought of hat hair always puts me off! It is so cold though so may end up following the crowd. The hat equally is matched with the vintage style rucksack, my friend bought a lovely one the other day, great for carrying around all those books! (Image: The Sartorialist)

Green Parka

I can’t tell you how many green parkas I see everyday! They seem to be the only coat the girls wear. Personally I don’t like the long length and the style is just too androgynous. But they are so warm and the hood shields you from the rain! (Image: The Sartorialist)

It is so interesting how where you live can effect your style. Although I am trying to stay true to what I like, rather than wearing what appears to be acceptable.

Hope you enjoyed this post! x
